SWEET MESSAGES

We had a bag of sweets from our Erasmus+ agency, and we had the idea of sharing them with our school community, as it would be a good way of spreading positive thinking and good will among people around us. Consequently, we wrapped them in nice, coloured paper and added an message for those who got the sweets. This is the way it all looked.

HAPPY THOUGHTS

Dear friends,

We decided to spread some happy thoughts around our school. The idea was to try and meke our school partners, teachers and other staff feel a little better. The porject consisted in writing nice, encouraging messages and distributing them around our school.

We really hope we helped some people around us feel better.

Here is a sample of what we did.

POSTCARDS

Last december, we thought that it was a good idea to tell someone we love just that... How much we love them, because sometimes it goes untold for longer than it should. No sooner said than done. We bought some postcards (some of our students even designed their own) and wrote lovely messages to show our dear ones how much we care about them. Here are some of the postcards.

THE GUADIAMAR RIVER

On Thursday 10th October we visited the Guadiamar River. It is a place of tremendous environmental interest, as it suffered a man-originated disaster when a dam in a mine upstream burst and flooded the river with toxic waste. If you want some details about the disaster, click HERE to access the factsheet we made for our guests.
Nowadays, the area has been fully recovered, and it is a great place for cycling, jogging, or just to have a nice day out and have fun. If you want to see some photos, click on the picture below.

SEVILLA

On Wednesday 9th Oct.we went to Seville. The city has so much to offer that it is impossible to see all the landmarks and sights in just one day, and do some shopping too! In addition, it was quite warm (very warm for October). However, the historical quarters of the city are so beautiful and full of history that none of that mattered. Our visit included the "Plaza de España", the "Alcazar" (Royal Palace), the Cathedral and jewish quarters. Then we even had some time for shopping and coffee. Click HERE to access the "Tour Guide Leaflet" we prepared for our guests, and if you want to see some pictures of our day in Seville, click on the image below.

VISIT TO DOÑANA

On Oct 8th we took a day trip to Doñana National Park. We rode some 4X4 trucks that took us into the park. Unfortunately we couldn't see any Iberian Lynx, as the weather was quite warm and our guide told us they were already seeking refuge under bushes and hidden places to stay cool. however, we did see other animals and birds, which our guide told us everything about. After that, we visited the town of "El Rocio" and its church, where a popular pilgrimage takes place every year. You can get the factsheet we prepared for our guests by clicking HERE. Then, click on the image below to see a photo album of our trip.

POSITIVE EDUCATION

During the week in Spain, we were lucky enough to have Mrs. Vivi Pentikainen, a Finnish expert on Positive Education, come to our school and deliver a greatly useful and mind-opening lecture on Positive Education. We learned that the best way to feel happy is to see the good and do the good, among other things. Here are some pictures of the lecture and workshop we did.

FIRST MOBILITY: SPAIN. OUR PARTNERS VISIT US.

Early in the project, the first mobility took place. And it was the one where we were the hosts. It took place between Oct. 6th and Oct 12th. We had a great time during our day trips, we learned a lot about positive education and we made a bunch of new friends from all over Europe. Click on the balloon to see some pictures of the activities we did during our first Erasmus + Week.

OUR PARTNERS.

We start out our project by getting to know a little about our partner schools. Here is some information about them. These schools have joined together in this educational venture and we are convinced that together we will achieve our goal of acquiring the skills for a positive, happy and healthy life.

OUR PROJECT: THE GOOD WILL AMBASSADORS

Our project is called "The Good Will Ambassadors", as we mean our pupils to grow into happy, healthy, strong and caring adults. Therefore we have chosen UN Goal for Sustainable Development number 3 "Good Health and Wellbeing" as our common goal.

We are 5 countries involved: Finland, France, Spain, Italy and Cyprus. We are Secondary Schools
and our Pupils are aged between 13-16 years. From each country we have 2-4 teachers and some
20 pupils involved. The pupils travel to the Partner Countries with a Group of 6 pupils and 2-4
teachers at a time. The pupils joining the Program will be selected carefully. The main criteria is the
level of their engagement to the Project and also their willingness to participate in the Goodwill - part
of the Program. We are interested in how eager they are to grow in their humanity. The Erasmus
pupils will be named "Goodwill Ambassadors".

In our project we use the UN Sustainable Development Goals as the framework through which each
Partner School chooses their perspective of doing good. We chose the UN Goals as we think they
are very current topics worldwide and they give a concrete view to our Project.
